AUMA Electric Actuator Configurations

GST bevel gearboxes

Combinations of AUMA SA multi-turn actuators with GST bevel gearboxes are used when the input drive shaft is positioned at an angle to the output drive shaft. The gearbox arrangement can also multiply the available output torque.

SQ and SQR actuators

SQ actuators for open-close and positioning duty are rated for classes A and B, or for S2 - 15 min duty.

SEVEN variable-speed actuators

A specially developed frequency converter provides significant advantages. Key features include variable speed, resistance to voltage and frequency fluctuations, elimination of starting-current peaks, and gentle valve operation by reducing speed near the end positions.

SAV and SARV variable-speed actuators

SAV .2 multi-turn actuators for open-close duty and SARV .2 actuators for modulating duty are paired with ACV .2 controls. These variable-speed models extend the AUMA SA/SAR range and provide a wide speed-control ratio of up to 1:10.

SA and SAR actuators

SA actuators for open-close and positioning duty are rated for classes A and B, or S2 - 15 min duty. Special versions are available for extended S2 - 30 min operation.

Common multi-turn actuator models

In accordance with ISO 5210, a multi-turn actuator must be capable of withstanding thrust applied by the valve and transmitting torque to the valve for at least one revolution. In practice, multi-turn actuators are designed to perform multiple revolutions.

Linear and lever-motion arrangements

For precise linear movement, for example on globe valves, an SA multi-turn actuator can be combined with an LE linear thrust unit. Where lever operation is required, the linear thrust unit can be mounted on a base arrangement.

AUMA controls

Actuators fitted with integrated controls can be operated through the local-control elements. The controls are fully connected to the actuator.

The actuator can be completely configured locally without a direct connection to the DCS. Only operation commands and feedback signals need to be exchanged between the control system and actuator. Motor control is performed within the actuator with virtually no delay. AUMA actuators are available with integrated AM or AC controls.
