Grundfos SE1 and SEV pumps feature a high-strength stainless-steel (EN 1.4301) motor housing with good impact resistance, resistance to wastewater exposure and an easy-to-clean surface.
The pump housing and impeller are made of cast iron. The S-tube® impeller provides an efficient free passage for solids, reducing clogging and the associated risk of overload. The permissible solids passage is matched to the pump discharge opening.
A key Grundfos design developed specifically for wastewater applications is Grundfos pump mechanical sealThe cartridge-type mechanical seal helps protect the pump against debris, sand and contaminated water. This seal design is critical because seal failure can allow water into the motor, damaging the motor and bearings and leading to costly repairs. The seal assembly on Grundfos SE1 and SEV submersible pumps is also designed for straightforward replacement.
